Fun festival style wedding at The Cow Shed - Freathy Farmhouse, Cornwall - Sophie and David

If you love the idea of a laid back, fun wedding with a festival vibe, You will love seeing Sophie and David's wedding day at The Cow Shed in Freathy, Cornwall.

A little bit about Sophie and David...

David happens to be a talented musician. Sophie happens to like to go out to gigs and open mic nights. It was at an open mic night on the Barbican in Plymouth where they first met.

David proposed in Thailand where they had a nice long holiday, hopping from place to place as they went along. He made a wonderful video of photos of the pair of them to the soundtrack of 'Friendship' by Tenacious D. Half way through the video Sophie had to press pause. Then David got down on one knee and asked Sophie to marry him...

I'll let Sophie tell the rest of the story...

"I think that we were both so nervous neither of us could speak properly, or the Hong Thong was stronger than we thought! Dave then told me to put the headphones back in and press play. What followed was congratulations videos from family and friends from Plymouth, Southampton, Cornwall - it was amazing how much work Dave had put into it and it did set me off crying! After composing ourselves we went back to the bar at our resort and shared the news with a bunch of strangers and the couple we met earlier and celebrated with some cocktails!!!"

Since their travels they have had a beautiful baby girl named Aurora and as you will see below, have just had an absolutely incredible wedding day at The Cow Shed in Freathy, Cornwall.

A little bit about their wedding day...

The Cow Shed with its rustic charm, was the perfect location for Sophie and David's wedding day. The wonderful thing about The Cow Shed, other than the lovely owner, Sarah Weeks  (Thank you Sarah for offering me tea and sandwiches even though you were super busy) is the endless opportunity to make the day your own.

Thats exactly what they did. They Hired The super talented and equally lovely Maggie Rawlings to arrange plenty of beautiful fresh flowers everywhere (Including inside empty whisky and famous Plymouth Gin bottles)

With David being a talented musician himself (Check out his own band K-Lanta) The live music on the wedding day was awesome! Check out The Faux Furs and SoulStone Duo. Both bands where amazing.

Let me tell you about some of the yummiest food I've EVER eaten! Big Pan Parties cooked up some extremely tasty food. I loved the relaxed festival nature of going and collecting your food, sitting or standing wherever you like, and the best bit for Sophie and David (well beyond the seriously scummy food that you just never wanted to end) is that they didn't have to worry about a seating plan! Seriously, book these smiley chefs for your relaxed and fun wedding day! you wont regret it. I had two helpings of their yummy food. It would have been rude not to, right?

It was also lovely to see Makeup artist Jamie Russell again. She is lovely (and has a great name!)

When you see these photos below you will wander where Sophie found her stunning dress. Check out The Grace Loves Lace - London show room. Grace Loves Lace is the place to go for stunning dresses for the modern, unique and free spirited bride.

The atmosphere of the day was perfect, like a mini festival but with all of your family and closest friends. Great surroundings, great music, bubbles, face paint, photo booth props, yummy food, pegs, yep... PEGS! (you will see what I mean when you see the photos) and last but not least, one of the best wedding ideas ever. The Great Wedding Bake Off! Instead of getting a wedding cake, several of the guests made cakes and Sophie and David got to cut, taste and judge them. How awesome is that!!!

Enough rambling from me! Let's enjoy the photos...

The Photos...

Thank you again to Sophie, David, your friends and family, wonderful and talented suppliers and the lovely staff at The Cow Shed for making my job so freaking enjoyable!
