A Laid back Plymouth Registry Office wedding with a trip to the National Marine Aquarium

Laid back Plymouth Registry Office wedding with a trip to the National Marine Aquarium

Sharon and Simon travelled to Plymouth in August and had the loveliest day out, (including a wedding) What I mean by this is that their Plymouth Elopement had all the feels of a wonderful, happy and fun day out.

When I first asked Sharon about Her and Simon and the plans for the day, this is what she said...

"Our names, I guess are a good start. So, I'm sharon and the better one in the relationship is simon"

"We met at work and clicked forever. He likes to wind me up by calling me a cougar as I'm 6.5 years older than he is. To be honest I think I'm the immature one in the relationship"

"The wedding prep will start at the holiday inn with the ceremony taking place at Plymouth registry office. The day is to be quite informal with light lunch at the harbour restaurant then all of our guests visiting the marine aquarium. We will then have a break until we reconvene for the evening meal at the harbour restaurant. So not your traditional days line up but something we both love"

You can imagine how excited I was to join them on this awesome wedding day when I heard all of the above!

The morning prep took place at the Crowne Plaza Plymouth. Followed by a short walk across the road to the lovely little registry office that we have here in Plymouth. An intimate ceremony where we all held back tears. A short walk to the Barbican, passing Plymouth Hoe, Smeaton's Tower (Plymouths famous lighthouse) and lots of people with dripping ice cream along the way. A beautiful chippy lunch at The Harbour Restaurant. A little ride on the ferry to the Plymouth National Marine Aquarium. After a good walk around the aquarium Sharon and Simon did something great. They suggested a (super underrated) break including a nap (yep! a wedding day afternoon nap!) In my eyes this was genius. Honestly, If I had a pound for every time I heard a couple say they "Could do with a nap before the evening fun"... I'd have about twelve pounds. Once recovered and refreshed we all met back up at the harbour restaurant for some lovely food, cake and celebrations! What an awesome day out! (Including a lovely wedding) in Plymouth.

This day was amazing and a true testament to how awesome it is to not worry about tradition and do whatever you want to do on your wedding day!

Thank you so much to Sharon and Simon for inviting me and making me feel like part of your wonderful family for a day. I had a blast!

Below are some of my favourite moments from the day...
