Virtual Photo Session Information
Your first question is probably what on earth is a virtual photo session?
Well, it was the perfect answer for me as documentary family photographer during the pandemic (when it wasn’t safe to enter other peoples homes) I loved Virtual Photography so much during this time, so I’m still going strong with it today. .
I stay at my home (Sat at my desk with a nice cuppa) and I photograph you and your loved one/s by using a nifty app that allows me to call you (from my home to anywhere in the world with an internet connection) and use your phone as my camera during the shoot. This enables me to be able to capture relaxed, natural and fun photos. Just as I also do in person.
This is such a fun process and the photos are surprisingly high quality (Modern phone cameras are awesome) and are detailed enough to make stunning prints to hang on the walls of your home.
I truly believe that the little everyday mundane moments should be celebrated just as much as the big special planned ones (like weddings). So I aim capture you as you really are. I want to photograph this time in your lives (with all of the mess and beautiful chaos included). No awkward and weird posing, just you, unapologetically being yourselves so that the end result is a set of photos with feeling!
Step One - Scheduling your Virtual Photo Session
To make the booking official, there’s a session fee of £20 to pay. This is a special price for virtual sessions and is far less than in person sessions because I don’t have to travel.
This fee pays for my time, the editing of the photos, the set up of your 24 hour online viewing and ordering gallery and one beautiful 6x4 print posted to your home (Or one small digital image if you are not in the uk).
There is no obligation to make an additional purchase. However, if you love the photos and want them all in your life forever. Then packages are available.
The best option ever is my super awesome monthly subscription thingy - The Print Club - where you get EVERYTHING!!! that you would in the top package available. But you get to spread the cost, get prints in the post every month and you get an annual photo session and digital gallery.
Step 2 - The Virtual Photo Session Itself
Before our session, I'll reach out again confirm our time and date and make sure that you have the app all set up and are reminded of what to expect. If someone isn’t well, then I am able to reschedule and move your session over to a new date with no additional charge. Otherwise, this is the perfect time to ask any last-minute questions or let me know if you've come up with a fun idea we haven't discussed.
For the session you’ll need something to hold your phone up. I recommend a bottle or a tin and a hair bobble. A stack of books is also handy so we can adjust the height. You’ll also need to download The Shutter App and send me your unique code.
The day of the session, please block off 45 mins. Make sure you have a full battery and a clean lens, and lots of storage available on your phone (so that the app can process correctly). Then open The Shutter App at the scheduled time, I’ll call you, and away we go.
Typically we're done within 30 minutes or so, but I don't charge by the hour, so if there's a child meltdown, technical issue or if we are just having so much fun that we forget about time! (This happens alot) then we can make sure you get a good amount of time.
Finally, take a breath and relax... I promise to keep everything as fun, relaxed and painless as possible for everyone involved. My ultimate goal is for you to enjoy this experience and see it more like spending quality time together, rather than an awkward photo shoot.
Please don’t feel like you have to know what to do with your hands, or what to be like in front of the camera! I’ll take care of that for you.Please don’t care if your home is a mess or if your kids don’t behave. We are capturing and celebrating real life here. I call it “The beautiful chaos“. Just look forward to spending some quality time together, and having it captured so that you can always remember.

Step 3 - Viewing and Ordering the Photos
After your session, I will get to work on culling your images down to the very best of the best (typically between 15-30 images per session. I then edit and upload them onto a beautiful online proofing gallery for you so that you can choose your package. Once they're ready, I'll be in touch to schedule your 24-hour gallery viewing and ordering window.
When the photos are ready, I’ll send the gallery link. Once you click the link you’ll have 24 hours to view the photos (as many times as you like in 24 hours) and make your purchase. There is a charge to see the photos again after the 24hr preview. So please make sure that you choose a day where you are prepared to make this decision and make a payment for your prints.

Please note. Individual prints and digital images are NOT available. I do offer payment plans if you would like to spread the cost of a collection into smaller, more affordable payments.
Collection 1 - £375
The “I just want them all in my life now“ package.
• A complete set of high resolution digital files (usually 15-30 images) - with a print release.
• 15 9x6” Prints of your choice.
Collection 2 - £275
The “I’d like a few prints for around the house and to give as a gift or two” package.
• Choice of 10 high resolution digital files to download
• 10 matching 9x6 prints of your choice.
Collection 3 - £175
The “I’m on a bit of a budget“ package
• Choice of 5 social media sized digital files to download
• 5 matching 9x6 Prints of your choice.

Print Club subscription - £29 per month.
• EVERY MONTH - A mounted Print posted to your home (ready to pop straight into a 10x8 frame) so that you can start filling your home with wonderful memories.
• EVERY 12 MONTHS - The complete set of high resolution digital files from your session become available for download in both colour and black and white
• ALSO EVERY 12 MONTHS - Another super fun and relaxed photo session. This Includes 1 print and then you can choose your photos for the next 12 monthly prints.
• A couple of exciting surprises along the way (Not saying anything but I hope you like extra prints… oh and tea).
