Beach Meadow Wedding at Caerhays in Cornwall

I'm thrilled to share the incredible wedding of Sammie and Josh, a couple whose story is nothing short of amazing. They choose The Beach Meadow at Caerhays to host their laid back fun, wedding with a beach view and festival vibes.

Their wedding day was a whirlwind of memorable moments – from heartfelt vows exchanged in front of their nearest and dearest to a captivating electrical lightning storm (not sure how they managed to arrange that one but it was a wonderful reminder of those who had passed).

But that's not all! There was mouthwatering food all day from BBQ and smores to delicious pizza, and sweet treats galore (Look out for candy floss and pop corn on the dance floor), old-school cars that added a touch of vintage charm. And let's not forget the awesome band (Honestly, I would HIGHLY recommend The Qwest), a selfie photo booth, a magician who dazzled, and sparklers that illuminated the night. See some of the moments captured below to relive this amazing day!

A HUGE thanks to Sammie and Josh for beings absolute legends. Sammie looked after me so much, I felt as if it was my own wedding! The minute I arrived in the morning Sammie went on a teabag hunt to make sure I had a nice cuppa to start the day, She jumped the pizza que to make sure I was fed (for the second time of the day) and Sammie and Josh both kept checking on me to make sure I was okay, watered and happy. You guys are SO lovely and I’m so grateful for you!

I also, must give a shoutout to Jen. The wonderful Coordinator at the Meadow at Caerhays. Without her the day wouldn’t have gone so smoothly and effortlessly. He absolutely worked her bottom off and was always smiling. I really enjoyed working with Jen and hope it won’t be too long before having the chance to do so again soon!

Your story of how you met, your proposal story and your journey as a couple up until the wedding?

We met at a paint festival called Holi-One, we have been inseparable ever since :) Josh proposed on Christmas morning of 2020 after surviving lockdown together! We have bought a house together & rescued our Daisy babes ( cat) from our local animal shelter. Just a journey full of love, adventure and ups and downs. Would not want it any other way :)

What was stressful about the planning of the wedding and specifically what was stressful in relation to photography?

Wedding planning is a stressul time, we opted for a marquee wedding but this came with extra challenges. I can honestly say the photography was the least stressful part, we knew after our engagement shoot that you would be perfect for us Jamie, and you were!

What do you wish someone had told you before the day or during the planning that would have made a big difference?

During the planning process I wish someone had told me to get started earlier, leave more time for prep and then the last few weeks would have been more enjoyable.

What was your favourite part of your wedding?

The vows, without a doubt! Committing ourselves to each other in front of our favourite people was just an incredible feeling.

Your favourite story/s from the day - The one/s that you will tell when you are really really old?

My favourite story was the lightening and how it felt like we were lighting up the sky, almost as if those who couldn't be there were saying hello.

What made you choose your venue for your wedding?

We always wanted a beach wedding and Caerhays had it all, views, Church up the road and the sea breeze which was incredible.

What personal touches did you add to your day?

We made sure to put out our favourite biscuits for everyone, labelled either Grooms favourite or Brides favourite, we included photos of grandparents who couldn't be there.

What advice do you have for couples planning their wedding?

Start earlier than you think you need to and really do it your way, however you want. If you want people to wear fancy dress then do it, everyone is there to celebrate the both of you and will get involved however you need.

I love food, music and entertainment They are the some of the best things about weddings! - What food did you have, was it yummy and what did you have to entertain yourselves and your guests?

We had bbq platter food for our wedding breakfast and pizza in the evening.
We also had a candy floss and popcorn machine, which was a huge hit!
We spent a good chunk of our budget on the band which were fab & also a photobooth, magician & sparklers.

Why did you choose Jamie Webb as your photographer and what was it like working with Jamie on the day?

I saw Jamie advertising a competition on fb and fell in love with his style of laid back chill vibes.
It was the best decision we made and we are so excited to see the photos!

Is there anything else that you would like to add?

Just to say thank you, you kept me calm, you were at every big moment, you stayed longer than you needed too and you honestly felt like a guest and I can't wait for whatever is next in our lives to have another shoot with you one day, THANK YOU!
