Jamie and César's Sunny St Elizabeth's House Wedding in Devon
When I first met Jamie and César I knew that their St Elizabeth's House wedding would be super fun. It didn't disappoint thats for sure. Remember Lucy and Mark's wonderful windy Whitsand Bay Fort wedding? Well it was Lucy who recommended me to Jamie and I am so grateful that they did. Partly because of the incredible greek buffet in the evening (nom nom) but mostly because of the fact that I had the chance to witness and photograph so many emotional, loving and fun moments. I think Jamie and César and their lovely families have to go on record as one of the most tactile and openly affectionate bunch of people I have ever had the pleasure of spending time with. It was so wonderful to see.
I have to say St Elizabeth's House was the absolute perfect venue for what Jamie and César were looking for for their day! The staff are lovely and soooooooo hard working! The building is beautiful, elegant and colourful and the addition of the Marquee for the sit down meal ensured that there was plenty of space.
One of my fave moments of the day was when the lovely registrar managed to do a pretty good job at pronouncing César's whole name (its very loooooong) and everyone gave her a round of applause. It set me off a little when César's Aunty finally arrived to the wedding after a terrible journey. Everyone was so full of emotion and relief. Happy tears all around.
Thank you so much to Jamie and César for having me, feeding me incredible food and giving me the honour photographing such a beautiful day! Now over to you for a little chat about your day.
Your story of how you met and got to this awesome stage in your lives?
We met through friends at London Pride 2015, the old fashioned way. We started chatting, exchanging messages and that as they say was it. It was solidified at my birthday because as our friend describes it, César walked in and I only had eyes for him! Since that day we have spend nothing longer than 2 weeks apart.
What was your favourite part of your wedding?
César's favourite part was the ceremony and my favourite part was seeing how happy everyone was and enjoying themselves.
What made you choose your venue for your wedding?
The minute we walked in to St Elizabeth’s, we knew it was the one! There was just a feeling of warmth. The staff were so attentive from start to finish.
What made you choose the details and theme/styling for your wedding?
We wanted something modern, clean and elegant. The colours complimented each other well and it also was quite summery as well so tied in perfectly with the gorgeous weather we had.
What advice do you have for couples planning their wedding?
It’s the little details that really make the day! Your guests will notice the small, personalised details and it will make them feel special. I would also recommend making lists (that’s how I got through the stress!)
I love food, music and entertainment They are the some of the best things about weddings! - What food did you have, was it yummy and what did you have to entertain yourselves and your guests?
We had a modern elegant selection of food. We had a crab or soup starter, chicken or duck main and then creme brulee or Brownie for dessert. For the evening buffet, we wanted something different so we decided on a Greek buffet which was delicious!
The piece of music we walked down the aisle to was called Kisses and Cake by John Powell from the film P.S.I Love You and our first dance song was called Without You by Oh Wander. Music is very important to both César and myself so during the meal we had a cd of all our favourite songs playing which includes the theme to Jurassic Park (my favourite film!)

What were you looking for in your photographer, Why on earth did you choose Jamie Webb as your Devon Wedding photographer and what was it like working with Jamie on the day?
We were recommended by our friends Lucy and Mark who had Jamie for their wedding day. We loved their natural, unposed photos and that is what we wanted for our wedding day. Jamie was an absolute dream from start to finish and I couldn’t recommend him highly enough!
Is there anything else that you would like to add?
Nothing else to say except it was the most special day and we are so lucky!
